The new speed limit in Serbia was set on June 1, but the replacement of signs had to wait. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said at the time that it was allowed to drive 130 km/h, despite the fact that the signs had not been replaced.
– In any case, the traffic will take into account the speed limit of 130 km/h when sending speeding tickets to home addresses, so that citizens would not be damaged – the head of the Traffic Police Administration, Nebojsa Arsov, said at the time.
The drivers who exceed the speed limit will be sent tickets to their home addresses.
Let us remind that the penalties are RSD 3,000 for driving 130 to 140 km/h, RSD 10,000 for driving 151 to 160 km/h and RSD 100,000, 15 to 60 days in jail, 15 negative points and nine to 12 months without a driving license for driving 201 to 220 km/h.
