The Chamber of Commerce of Serbia has filed three important initiatives for amendments to tax and labor regulations to the ministries of finance and labor, aiming to unburden the economy and prevent the abuse of sick leaves, Marko Cadez, the president of the CCIS, said at a session of the CCIS Assembly.

As announced on the website of the CCIS, business people are increasingly using the possibility of influencing the creation of the regulatory framework and the general business environment though initiatives and propositions, and of the 93 initiatives they launched last year, 32 have been realized, through amendments to the existing regulations and better practice.

This year, another 39 initiatives have been launched, 16 of which have been accepted, Cadez pointed out. It is also important that over 60% of the economy's propositions have been accepted within the Company Law.

In 2017, thanks to the efforts of the CCIS, 57 members of the chamber realized the VAT refunds in the full amount, Cadez said, inviting businessmen to address the chamber if they have a problem with VAT refunds.

Cadez invited businessmen to use the mechanisms of influence available to them and to give suggestions for the improvement of the existing services. All CCIS services are available to them and information about them can be found through the Business Info Service, the E-services portal, the CCIS website and the general factsheet.

When it comes to the internationalization of operations, in the first five months of this year, 34 events were organized in the country and abroad, bringing together 1,177 local and 2,810 foreign companies, and this year's plans include business forums at MEDEF, in Tunis, three Italian provinces, Algeria, Qatar, Turkey, Timisoara, Moscow, London and Belgrade, as well as regional fairs in Slovenia, Albania and other countries.
