Investment potentials of Vojvodina attractive to American investors – Large interest in cooperation in beekeeping

The Vice President of the Provincial Government and the Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, Ivan Djokovic, has welcomed a US delegation consisting of representatives of the insurance company Brotherhood Mutual and the world's biggest hardware store chain Do it Best, as well as representatives of the corporate sector and entrepreneurs.

The guests were introduced to the investment potential of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the possibilities of investments, with special focus on startups, it is reported on the website of the Provincial Government.

The meeting was also attended by the director of the Development Agency of Vojvodina, Nikola Zezelj, representatives of the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry and the Assembly of the AP of Vojvodina, as well as Douglas J. Roth, the Director of Financial Reporting at Do it Best. He pointed to a great interest among American investors in the possibilities and needs of establishing offices of companies belonging to the corporation's chain.

Brotherhood Mutual is an insurance company headquartered in Indiana. It primarily cooperates with religious and educational institutions, as well as the enterprise sector, providing insurance services for over 150,000 clients throughout the USA, with a tendency of being present in world markets as well. The company's chairman, Mark Robinson, emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and information influencing the negotiations and the business policies of all parties interested in investing in Vojvodina.

Representatives of American companies operating in the industries of food and cosmetics were especially interested in the field of beekeeping in Vojvodina, considering the growing problem in the USA concerning the obvious drop in the number of bee colonies. The sharing of knowledge of experienced beekeepers from Serbia and Vojvodina, as well as the beekeeping cluster, is the first step in the cooperation in creating an exporting policy within this important sector.

Djokovic emphasized that the cooperation with potential partners from the USA, in all fields and on all levels, was of extreme importance to the enhancement of the business climate, the agricultural sector and the field of entrepreneurship.

The pioneering endeavor of the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism related to incentives meant for creative economy and social entrepreneurship was also presented on this occasion. These incentives stimulate innovation and socially responsible conduct in business, and there's already a great interest in them.
