The president of the Municipality of Paracin, Sasa Paunovic, said at a press conference that Rimaster would start producing at the rented hall of Polet in Paracin, near the highway.
Rimaster produces electrical systems and cable harnesses for special vehicles such as bulldozers and cranes.
– Since these are complex products, a group of 50 to 75 workers will be trained in Sweden – Paunovic said.
The construction of a hall of 3,500 square meters in Industrial Zone Zmic, worth around EUR 2 million, is planned for the second phase.
– In the next three years, around 350 workers will be employed, and in the next ten years, the production will expand and 700 to 1,000 workers will be employed – Paunovic said.
Paunovic said that the negotiations with the Swedish company had taken about a year and that the investors had deliberated between several municipalities, ultimately choosing Paracin thanks to the good cooperation with the local self-government.
– Swedish investors want to stay here. They've chosen the area where they can realize successful long-term cooperation – Paunovic emphasized.
Tomas Staalnert, the CEO of Rimaster, stated that the production in Paracin would start in 2019 after the completion of the training in Sweden.
Rimaster sells its products in European markets, with Sweden as their biggest market, followed by Germany, France and Belgium.
They offer around 25,000 products, and their annual production amounts to around EUR 80 million. They have facilities in Sweden, Poland and China.
Staalnert said that they had chosen Serbia as it had enough educated workforce and that Paracin had been picked as the municipality had provided them with all the help they needed.
They are implementing the investment independently, without state aid, but as Staalnert said, they will apply for state subsidies.
