Prvanov: Commencement of construction of Južni Tok depends on Serbia

- The deadlines for commencement of construction of gas pipeline Južni Tok in Bulgaria depend on whether Serbia will join implementation of that project – Georgij Prvanov, the President of Bulgaria, said in Moscow today (February 5, 2009).

- Bulgaria will be ready to start construction of new gas pipeline as soon as we learn that Serbia builds the same gas pipeline. We need to be synchronized – said he at the press conference after the meeting with the President of Russia, Dmitrij Medvedev.

The presidents of Russia and Bulgaria, Dmitrij Medvedev and Georgij Prvanov, said that they would like to accelerate construction of gas pipeline Južni Tok.

- We agreed that we should move from the phase of harmonization of project documentation (feasibility study) to more direct construction of gas pipeline as soon as possible – said Medvedev.
