Forgotten "bugatti" sold for nearly 3.4m EUR
A classic Bugatti car, which gathered dust in a
Tyneside garage in Britain for half a century, has been sold for 3.4m euros (£3m)
at an auction in Paris.
Automobile 1937 bugatti 57S was sold at the Bonhams' exhibition of old timers, on behalf of the family of the last owner, doctor Harold Carr.
That surgeon orthopedist drove the car for the first few years, but in 1960 it was parked in his garage in Gosfort, in the vicinity of Newcastle, where it remained until his death in 2007.
The fastest automobiles of make "bugatti" were so much ahead of their time that their maximum speed was 209 km/h at the time when the maximum speed of the automobiles of other makes was 80 km/h.
