The president of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia, Zoran Markovic, does not expect the personal changes in the management of FCA to bring about the basic principles of operation, Politika writes in today's issue.

– It has been announced that Fiat Chrysler will stay in Serbia, which means that a new contract will be signed and that there's no reason to worry – Markovic said, concerning Mike Manley's succeeding Sergio Marchionne as Fiat CEO.

According to Markovic, Marchionne has left a mark on an era in the operations of the company in Kragujevac. He also says that the Kragujevac factory currently has bigger problems than who runs the global company, and these are engagement, the number of work days, working conditions...

A month and a half ago, Marchionne announced a five-year business strategy of FCA, which plans the continuation of the production of Fiat 500L in Kragujevac. Politika says that the financial report of FCA shows that the operating income in 2017 marked a drop by more than RSD 20 billion (around EUR 170 million). The company still realized a net profit of RSD 2.13 billion, close to the previous year's level.

– The amount of state aid for FCA in the new contract with this company is not yet known, especially as the previous one was signed before the Stabilization and Association Agreement came into effect, which strictly defines the terms of state aid provision. In the meantime, Serbia also harmonized its laws with those in the EU, so it's not certain whether and to what extent this is possible under our Law on State Aid Control – Politika writes.
