(Future look of Kula pool) By next summer, residents of Kula will get new water features in their town. The local self-government has opened the tender for the first of the two planned phases of the construction of a sports and recreation center, which, as said in the documentation, will primarily feature swimming and recreational facilities. Various indoor and outdoor programs are planned as well.
In the first phase, it is specified, the plan is to build an outdoor (water polo) pool, a restaurant, a shop, a pool for children and non-swimmers, a beach volleyball court, a part of access traffic routes, a parking lot and an energy unit.
As the local self-government explains for our portal, this is a part of the works in the first phase, for which funds have been secured so far from the Directorate of Capital Investments of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the budget of the municipality of Kula and partly from the town’s own funds. Within the first phase, it remains for the administrative section, the technical documentation for which was prepared by Novi Sad’s Tim Inzenjering, to be built once the funds for it are secured.
– As part of the procurement procedure, which has already started, hydromechanical equipment will be procured too, and the pool will be operational once all these works are completed. The plan is also to start preparing the project-technical documentation for the second phase, envisaged in the Urban Project, which entails the construction of an indoor pool, a sports hall, new access routes and parking spaces due to an increase in the capacity, as well as trim tracks around the entire complex.
Since funds for this are yet to be secured, the town administration cannot yet project when the realization of these plans will start.
The public procurement procedure for the selection of the best bidder for the execution of works within the first phase of the construction of the sports and recreation center in Kula is open until August 27. The municipality expects the agreement to be signed in mid-September if there are no complaints, and the selected contractor will need to finish the job within 180 calendar days.
Although the works will probably be halted temporarily due to weather conditions, the municipality is convinced that the pools will be available to swimmers as soon as the next summer season.
