Company "Gazpromneft" plans to start realization of the programme for reconstruction of Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) this month.

- Reconstruction will start with the realization of the tender for procurement of basic equipment and selection of companies that will modernize NIS – said Dmitrij Mališev, the President of the Administrative Board of NIS.

According to his words, realization of “complex and deep reconstruction and modernization of technology complex for oil refining” is the first on the list of planned activities. Mališev said that the capacities of the oil refining unit, part of the structure of NIS, reached 7.3m tons, and that the annual refining level ranged between 3.8 and 4.3m tons.

According to Russian media, the reason for that is the low quality of production and, Following the reconstruction, the situation will be changed.

"Gazpromneft" has promised to Serbia that it will organize production of European quality (the one that meets euro-5 standards) in the companies of NIS and, among the rest, maintenance of the existing level of exploitation and realization of reconstruction of the distributive network of NIS, which encompasses over 450 gas stations, is in the pipeline.

"Gazpromneft" finished the procurement of 51% of Serbian company NIS on February 3, 2009, and, as Internet portal "EnergyObserver" learned from unofficial sources, the new Director General of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia, Kiril Kravčenko, has already started reorganization of the personnel structure in that company.

According to the source of "EnergyObserver", Kravčenko dismissed three assistants of the CEO of NIS Petrol – the assistant for investments, for external procurements, and for internal procurements.
