Trade exchange with Bulgaria about to reach 1 billion USD

Director of Representative office of Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Sofia, Ljubisa Mitic, stated that cooperation between Serbia and Bulgaria had been fastly developing.

The extenth of trade exchange was 995 million USD, according to Mr. Mitic, and during the last five years, Serbian export to Bulgaria has been growing for 35% per year, which is almost twicest faster growth than with the other countries.

Mr. Mitic said that Bulgaria, even tough a member of the European Union "was not quite enoguh integrated to the Europe and that would continue to be so until it had reached a certain level of development". To the question what was exported most to Bulgaria, Mr. Mitic answered that the largest foreign currency profit was made through export of iron and steel.

- Metal waste parts are exported a lot, as Bulgarian metallurgy demands it, and after that go soya, tires, chemical articles, machines and transporting devices, plastics... And from Bulgaria, petrol and petrol derrivates are mostly exported, then, mines, nonmetals, chemical articles, machines and devices. if you check out the list, almost identical goods are traded on both sides, Mr. Mitic pointed out.
