First Serbian robot factory opened in Ruma
Serbian company, "ICM Electronics" opened a robot factory in Platicevo, near Ruma, on February, 27th, in which invested aroun 1 million euros.
Minister of economy of Serbia, Mladjan Dinkic, stated at the openning that the factory will manufacture robotic lines which would eventually replace people at work places with hard conditions, like smelteries or iron manufacture. Dinkic reminded that 530 million euros had been invested in Serbia in informatic technologies during 2008.
ICM President, Dragan Micic, said that there would be 10 more engineers working at the factory, which would make a total of 22 workers. Robotic lines which will be designed, produced, mounted, and tested in this factory, are going to be used in the industries with serial productions, according to Mr. Micic's words.
He also mentioned that ICM was planning to enter into markets of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that they were already in negotiations about cooperation with some French and German companies.
President of Vojvodina's Chamber of commerce, Nikola Stojsic said that robotic lines increased productivity, which was significant for the Serbian commerce which didn't have sufficiently high productivity, which also influenced on competitive potentials.
ICM's business partners such as Fanuc Lionel Mercou and General Consul of Japan, Teruhico Shinada were also present at the openning.
