Belgrade Modernism exhibit set to open on September 10, 2018 in The National Bank of Serbia Gallery
The exhibition is organized in the year celebrating the cultural monuments of the city of Belgrade and the exhibit will mark the beginning of European Heritage Days 2018
The exhibition concept is designed to showcase the important achievements from the modernist period between the two wars and the selected pieces belong to protected cultural property.
The significant part of the exhibition is the Map Of Modernist Belgrade Architecture, designed by the Cultural Institution Parobrod that locates all the modernist buildings around the city.
The exhibition connects many Belgrade and Republic of Serbia institutions such as Belgrade Secretaria for Culture Secretariat for the Economy, Cultural Institution Parobrod , National Bank of Serbia, Museum of Science and Technology , Museum of Aviation Belgrade Astronomical Observatory, Filmske Novosti Archive, Archives of Yugoslavia, Yugoslav Film Archive Museum but also cooperates with the heirs, copyright holders, foundations, civil sector and private collectors.
There is a special cooperation with Milan Zlokovic Foundation which today works hard to preserve the legacy of this famous architect and one of the founders of modern expression, the announcement says.
