CADEZ: Interest for dual education in Serbia on the rise
Comments
(Marko Cadez) The number of companies willing to join the dual education project has significantly increased, from 40 to 600, which means the economy is in need of qualified workforce and that companies want to participate in vocational education and get the occupations they lack, said Marko Cadez, the president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
At the gathering about the Implementation of Dual Education in Serbia Cadez announced that business delegation from Austria and Traffic - Technical School from Zemun would sign the agreement on training of 30 students in German companies during the visit of Austrian president Alexander Van der Bellen to Serbia.
The companies in question are Gebruder Weiss, Cargo-Partner, Lagermax, Kehne + Nagel, Quehenberger and DM.
Cadez emphasized the importance of this agreement and said that Austria was very supportive when it comes to implementing dual education system in Serbia.
He reminded that the Law on Dual Education was adopted in November 2017 whereas the full implementation of the system is expected in 2019-2020 school year.
– We plan to start two key initiatives in the Government by the next school year in order to prompt more companies to join the project, because the costs of this type of education are high. That is why we need to come up with a co-financing project or reduce certain taxes so as to help and encourage small and medium-sized enterprises to participate, said Cadez
According to Cadez, the plan was to introduce new occupation that we didn't have but they were very sought after on the job market.
The final stages of implementation of dual education will introduce a web platform intended as a digital info service for parents and students, said Cadez
He said that the result of the pilot project showed that 83 out of 120 students who graduated in June 2017 were already employed in companies they trained in.
