The official statement on the occasion of the Global Competitiveness Report is a yearly report published by the World Economic Forum in which Serbia has advanced five places is now ranked 65th out of 140 world economies says that the advancement on the list is the proof the Government has chosen to remove the obstacles that prevent faster economic growth.
They assessed that e-Governance presented one of the mechanism that enables easier business operation by reducing administrative burdens and increases public servants' efficiency, which together impact economy efficiency and improves business predictability in Serbia.
– Serbia made progress in accordance with almost every relevant competitiveness criteria. Keeping in mind that knowledge and innovation have the biggest export potential in Serbia in 21st century the fact that Serbia improved its position compared to the previous year and made a huge step in field of innovation by jumping 39 places and is now ranked 56th in this sector is especially encouraging, the Government pointed out
The statement lists the biggest improvements in following areas: macroeconomic stability, education and training, market and financial system and adds that Serbia achieved the biggest productivity increase in Global Competitiveness Index, compared to the rest of the countries in the region.
– This index is a crucial factor for bringing in foreign investors and Serbia is a leading country in this area considering it had an investment inflow of EUR 2,6 billion in 2017 which tops the total investment inflow in entire Western Balkans region, the Government statement said.onditions
