MILLER : Serbian can connect to Turkish Stream

(Alexey Miller) Serbia can connect to the pipeline leading all the way to Turkey under the Black Sea, the CEO of Gazprom told Vecernje Novosti daily

Turkish Stream project entails the construction of two branches of the pipeline connecting Russia and Turkey under the Black Sea, he said and added that the first branch is meant for delivery of gas to Turkish market.

– The second branch is meant to supply South and Southeast Europe , said Miller.

According to him, Gazprom signed a road map for developing gas transport systems with the Ministries of Bulgaria, Serbia and Hungary while transmission system operators are already working on ensuring transport systems in these countries were ready to receive additional gas.

Another option includes gas interconnector from Turkey to Greece and further to the south of Italy, he added.

Miller pointed out that NIS had one of the most modern gas refineries in the region and a station network in Serbia and three other Balkan countries and added that the company was “one of the leading exporters of gas products and one of the most desirable employers in Serbia.”

– The scope of investments of Gazprom group and NIS in developing infrastructure and new company project is approaching EUR 3 billion, Miller emphasized.

Since 2013, NIS pays more than EUR 1 billion of profit to the state budget which makes between 13% and 15% of the entire state budget.

– At the end of the first half of 2018 the payment reached almost EUR 700 million. As you can see, the results speak for themselves, Miller told Vecernje Novosti.
