Finance Minister Sinisa Mali stated recently that the state would sell its 20.2% stake by the end of the year.
As the newspaper reports, the sale of this bank, the biggest individual owner of which is the state, is nearly certain. One of the reasons is that these six companies are serious players with good experiences in the banking sector, and the other is that the state is presented with a wide range of choices.
– Six letters of interest for the purchase of state shares in Jubmes Banka were sent within the deadline, three from domestic companies and three from foreign ones. The choice is good, and the Government is determined to sell its stake over the next two months and thereby start its exit from the ownership structure of several banks – an unnamed source stated for Blic.
In addition to the state, the most important shareholder, the second biggest one is Beobanka in bankruptcy, whose stake in Jubmes Banka amounts to 6.6%, whereas the third biggest one is former Yugoslavia, with a 5.33% stake which has not been distributed since the breakup of the country.
The bank realized a profit of RSD 62.5 million last year and is working with retail clients, but it is strategically oriented toward working with legal entities. Between 2013 and 2015, the bank's NPLs amounted to as much as 47%. In mid-2017, the share of NPLs was reduced to 11.25%, Blic reports.
The newspaper writes that “it is not well known that the chairman of the Managing Board of Jubmes Banka is Zoran Lilic, a former president of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia”.
