"BTR-EXP" to invest 2.5m EUR in production of charcoal in Boljevac and Žagubica

Serbian company "BTR-EXP" has announced that it will invest 2.5m EUR in construction of furnaces for production of charcoal in Boljevac and Žagubica.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development of Serbia, the furnaces will be built according to the license of Dutch company "Carbon engenering".

Construction of two furnaces is in progress in Boljevac, and "BTR-EXP" plans to build total of 12 furnaces, four of which in Žagubica, and the rest in Boljevac.

The State Secretary for Regional Development within the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Dejan Jovanović, who was present at the signing of the contract on sale of license for production of charcoal in Boljevac, said that the investment of company "BTR-EXP" would enable creation of 100 new jobs.

He added that that investment would create the opportunity for 5m EUR worth of export to EU market by the end of the year, as well as for training of staff from Serbia in Netherlands.
