Plan for Serbian-Chinese zone in Smederevo completed, jobs for 2,300 people

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that the draft master plan for the construction of the Chinese-Serbian free zone in Smederevo had been completed.

The master plan should be adopted at the City Assembly of Smederevo by the end of the year, so that the construction could begin in 2019.

– The zone is enormous. It should be completed by 2022, but, in the first phase, there will be 2,300 jobs – Ana Brnabic said in Kovin, where she had opened the bypass route around Bavaniste.

The jobs in this new zone will also be important for the citizens of Kovin, Brnabic emphasized.

She reminded that, following the arrival of HBIS to Zelezara Smederevo, the government had continued the talks with Chinese partners, and the Ministry of Economy had signed the agreement on the construction of the Chinese-Serbian free zone in Smederevo.

– We continue working together in order to put Serbia back on its feet – Brnabic said.
