Negotiations with Chinese on Belgrade-Zrenjanin highway held

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked today with representatives of China’s Shandong about the potential cooperation within the new project of the construction of the Belgrade-Zrenjanin highway.

– The cooperation of Serbia and China in the field of infrastructure has been going on for a long time now, and all the projects realized together are being executed efficiently and serve as a model for other investors in Serbia – Zorana Mihajlovic said.

She emphasized that the priority in this phase of the realization of the new project was to prepare the entire project-technical documentation and that potential models of funding the construction of the highway would be discussed in the next period.

At the meeting, which was also attended by Li Manchang, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, the representatives of Shandong emphasized that they were ready to cooperate with the Government of Serbia in the realization of the project.

The new 66-km highway through Vojvodina will connect Belgrade (Borca) and Zrenjanin and contribute to the successful realization of the initiated investments and to attracting new ones to Zrenjanin and Banat, the ministry says in its press release.
