The web domain .RS will support 13 languages and enable the use of 67 Latin-script letters from December 10, meaning that domain names will no longer need to use replacements for non-supported letters.

As announced by the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry (RNIDS), the registrars will be able to register new .RS domain names, featuring letters such as Č and Ć (commonly approximated by C) or Š (commonly approximated by S).

– The fact is the each people wants to use its own national script online, not just on pages, but in domain names too. Following the world trends, RNIDS enabled the registration of Cyrillic-script letters within the .SRB domain back in 2012, and now it will enable the use of a wide range of Latin-script letters used in Serbia, including those used in the languages of national minorities, within .RS domain names – RNIDS announces.
