The Ministry of Economy and Regional Development announced that about 1,500 companies had submitted requests for employment of 2,680 trainees during the first two weeks of the programme for employment of 10,000 young trainees "Prva šansa".

Of total of 2,680 young trainees, 1,428 or 53% finished secondary school, 358 or 14% graduated from advanced schools, while 894 or 33% have faculty degrees.

The requests for employment of young trainees were submitted by the companies from various business spheres, such as finance and accounting, civil engineering, tourism and catering, trade, food industry, legal services, transportation, veterinarian medicine, IT services, health care and pharmaceutics, vocational and personal services, chemistry, non-metals and graphics, consulting services.

This programme will make it possible for 10,000 young trainees to find their first jobs in private sector, on definite period of up to one year, and to pass the training exam with the ensured salary of 16,000 to 20,000 RSD.

The Ministry of Economy pays the net salary and all benefits during the training period, while the employer is to pay only the tax on income.

The employer is obliged to keep, at least, the same number of employees during the period of use of that subvention as it had in the first quarter of year 2009.
