Serbian Association of Managers holds annual award ceremony

The Serbian Association of Managers (SAM) handed out the annual awards for 2018 in 12 categories on Wednesday evening, and Dejan Turk, CEO of VIP Mobile, was pronounced manager of the year.

This was the seventh award ceremony, and the SAM marked its 12th anniversary this year.

The president of the Executive Board of the SAM, Stanka Pejanovic, says that this year is also significant due to the record number of 450 members.

– Through their work, our members raise the reputation of this profession and advocate the improvement of our economy on the global economic stage – she said.

She also points out that the SAM became a member of the European Confederation of Managers, a platform of more than a million managers across Europe.

– The SAM is also a member of the regional association of managers of Southeast Europe, we carry out a range of education and mentorship programs, and our main motto is always the same – dedication and networking – Stanka Pejanovic said.

Among the other recipients are GI Group HR Solutions, in the category of business conditions from small and micro enterprises, Atlantic Group, in the category of the best program for talent development, and Delta Holding, in the category of the socially responsible company of the year.

The company Mikroelektronika was pronounced the employer of the year.

Dragoljub Damljanovic, the head of the energy and service sector for SEE at Schneider Electric was awarded for the promotion of leadership among the young and the improvement of the business climate for the development of new leaders, young entrepreneurs and managers.

The Digital Serbia Initiative was awarded in the special category of the initiative of national importance.

The “Breakthrough of the Year” award went to SBB for launching a unique technological innovation in the region – EON set-top box. This integrated platform combines TV content with Android TV digital services and apps, turning each TV set into Smart TV. Thanks to this concept, users can watch the channels within the SBB offer and use all advanced EON functionalities and Android services, such as YouTube, Google Play Music, Google Play Games and thousands of other apps from Google Play Store, on their TV.


The “Personal Heroic Act” award went to Goran Nikolic, a marathon runner with impaired sight, who set a Guinness record by running 55 marathons in 55 consecutive days in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

The prestigious recognition is awarded to managers, companies, individuals and initiatives that advocate better business conditions, the professionalization of the managers` professions, the promotion of ethical and socially responsible business, the development of leadership among the young and a better life for all citizens.
