Profit of banking group Piraeus reached 530m EUR
Piraeus banking group registered about 530m EUR worth of profit in 2008, while its assets exceeded 54.9 billion EUR.
The loans approved by this banking group, the fourth largest one in Greece, reached the amount of about 39 billion EUR, which means that they grew by 27%, while the deposits and bonds to the population exceeded 31.3 billion EUR, registering the growth by 31%.
In addition, the number of clients in Greece was increased at 2.1m against 1.9m at the end of year 2007. The President of Piraeus banking group, Mikalis Salas, pointed out that the bank, at that difficult moment, was focused on high quality of services and maintenance of quality of the credit portfolio.
