In Official Bulletin of Republic of Serbia, no. 12/2005 of February 8, 2005, the decision on founding of public company "Elektromreža Srbije" (Electric Network of Serbia) was published. Abbreviated name of the company is JP EMS Beograd. The company will be located on the following address: Belgrade, 11, Kneza Miloša Street.

The company will deal with electric power transfer, transfer system management, research and development, planning, construction, maintenance and exploitation of network, as well as telecommunications devices. The company will also deal with trade in electric power, carry out system analyses and other engineering works.

New company takes over all assets, rights, obligations and employees of Public Company "Elektroistok", as well as parts of Public Company Electric Power Company of Serbia. Elektroistok ceases work on the day the new company is registered.
