Kruševac's "Rubin" exports "vinjak" to USA
- Kruševac-based "Rubin" will soon start export of "vinjak XO" to USA, and the order has arrived from Illinois - said Miroslav Jovanović, the Deputy Director General of the company.
He says that it is a natural alcoholic drink produced by mixing of wine distillates that were previously kept in oak barrels of 500 liters for minimum eight years. It is recommended as a digestive, and its luxury packaging and decorations makes it suitable for a present.
Jovanović pointed out that US "AB Company" imports new quantities of local drinks, including vinjak, as well as "Rubin's" wines "Medveđa krv", "Carica Milica" and "Car Lazar". These drinks are bought not only by people from Serbia, but also by the US citizens.
In addition to the fact that the export to USA has been increased, "Rubin's" drinks are also in growing demand in Slovenia, Belgium, France, Switzerland... According to Jovanović's words, "Rubin" registered 3m EUR worth of export in 2008, and it is very important that new foreign market is penetrated every year. Last year - Russia, this year - Great Britain.
A great advantage of "Rubin" lies in the fact that it obtains raw materials for production of wines from its own vineyards in nine locations in Serbia - Bačina, Suvaja, Lučina, Ravnjak, Ražanj, Grevci, Leskovac, Dobričevo, Preševo.
- Grapes for top wines are delivered from the vineyards with protected geographical origin - Jovanović added. "Rubin" satisfies part of its needs for table wines and wines for distillation by purchasing wines from private owners in the Kruševac region and the rest of Serbia, while minor share of wines is mainly imported from Macedonia.
The needs of "Rubin" for new quantities of grapes are big and constant, so that new vineyards are introduced all the time, and the wine cellar is working by the norms and standards that are in accordance with European regulations.
