Bechtel hopes for construction of Morava Corridor to begin by 2019

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked to representatives of Bechtel and Enka in London about the construction and the manner of financing of the Morava Corridor, that is, the highway from Pojate to Preljina, worth around EUR 800 million, whereby she completed her official two-day visit to Great Britain.

– We have been working on the project-technical documentation for the 110-km corridor for two years now with one of the best companies in this field. In the upcoming months, we will agree on the financing model – Mihajlovic said.

Michael Wilkinson, Senior Vice President Bechtel and General Manager for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, pointed out that the company was very dedicated to the project, the ministry announced.

Ozgar Ilan, board member at Turkey's Enka, thanked Mihajlovic for the support to the project.

In October 2018, Mihajlovic signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation on the project of the construction of Morava Corridor with Bechtel and Enka.
