Construction of sports hotel with additional features a solution for SPENS?

If the project is completed on time, the reconstruction of Novi Sad's center might begin this year with the development of Pozorisni Trg, the Serbian National Theater and the Church of Holy Dormition, said Mayor Milos Vucevic.

Talking about SPENS, he says that private companies are not interested in a public-private partnership at the moment, and that there is a possibility of building a sports hotel with additional features, as well as for the underground waters at the Promenada shopping center to be used for the heating and cooling of SPENS.

– If the city does not get a private partner for SPENS in the upcoming period, we will need to see how this business space, primarily the space on the first floor, will be managed further. There's a potential solution, though this is not the final decision, to turn a part of it into new kindergartens and another part into startup incubators. Don't forget that SPENS is in close proximity to the university and the future Science-Technology Park. Perhaps the city can provide a new business incubator, an incubator for startups, if there are new investments – Vucevic said.
