Kragujevac to get bus factory - "Viator Vektor" to invest 11m EUR
Managers of Slovenian company "Viator Vektor", which is the owner of former TAM from Maribor, will arrive in Kragujevac on Monday (June 22, 2009) in order to select the location for purchase of land where the new bus factory will be built.
The Mayor of Kragujevac, Veroljub Stevanović, who was staying in Slovenia with the delegation of the republic government, told "Blic" that the center of Šumadija would get new investor and that it would invest about 11m EUR in the new factory.
- There is already an organized location in the industrial zone in Cvetojevac, alonside the highway that is connected to "Corridor 10". "Viator Vektor" wants to buy 5 ha of land and to have a production hall at about 3,000 square meters built on it. The new factory will employ 250 people who will be producing nearly 450 buses per year for the market of whole Europe. All vehicles, of which engines will be powered by various fuels, will meet the criteria of "Euro 4" standard - says Stevanović.
Together with the representatives of the automobile factory from Maribor, the representatives of "Iskra", which produces car electrics and engine parts, will also arrive in Kragujevac.
They will be searching for suitable locations in the industrial zone for construction of their production units. By the way, this company is a partner of company "Fiat", and it is interested in becoming one of the main manufacturers of parts and components for future production of Italian vehicles.
