The Institute of Urbanism Belgrade
Natasa Danilovic Hristic was born in Belgrade. She graduated architecture and holds Master of Science from the Faculty of Architecture at University of Belgrade. She lives and works in Belgrade.
Education and Improvement
• Nataša started her studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Univesity of Belgrade in 1990. She chose a group of optional subjects: Protection and revitalization of architectural heritage and urban reconstruction. She graduated in 1995 and in 1997, at the same faculty, Nataša undertook her postgraduate studies in the field of Urban and Spatial Planning and Urban Design. Natasa acquired her master’s degree in technical sciences from the field of architecture and town planning in 2001 asserting her work ’’Transformation of the Existing System of Town Planning, Development and Usage of the Building Land in Serbia Under Conditions of Market Economy Development’’.
• Nataša got several grants. She participated in international schools ’’Modern Urban Economics Tailored for Southeast Europe’’ (Palić, 2001, organized by Palgo Center, Fund for an Open Society in Belgrade and NESPO from Budapest) and ’’Urban Economic Development’’ (Israel, 2003, in organization of MASHAV – Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Israel, Center for International Cooperation and Gallilea College).
• She speaks English and Spanish. Nataša is preparing the thesis.
Work and Professional Promotion
• In the period from 1993 to 1996 Nataša worked at several projects as an associate of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute of the Republic of Serbia. During 1994 she volunteered on the subject ’’Urban Functions – Living’’ at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade.
• Since 2001 Nataša has been an employee of the Institute of Urbanism Belgrade, and since 2003 she has been Director of Physical Planning Department.
• Nataša is the author of a number of projects and delivered facilities (the new and reconstructed ones) and urban plans and studies.
• She participated in numerous international symposiums, conferences and exhibitions. She regularly publishes articles from the field of architecture and urbanism in vocational magazines (AG Magazine, DaNS, member of the magazine INFO editorial staff – the paper of the Institute of Urbanism Belgrade), published works in festschrifts, edited three books.
• Nataša is an active member of a number of professional associations (Architects Associaton of Belgrade, Town Planners Association of Belgrade, Serbian Chamber of Engineers, etc.). She is the member of several expert juries for town planning and architectural competitions.
• She possesses Engineer’s and Town Planning Licence of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers.
