Serbian Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimovic said on RTS that the National Reference Laboratory in Batajnica would act as the top laboratory in Serbia, controlling food safety and performing superanalyses.

– With the revision of the Law on Food, we are expanding the field of competence for the National Reference Laboratory, regarding milk and other food. We thereby get an institution equipped to control all laboratories in Serbia – Nedimovic explained.

The laboratory will have the equipment for all the necessary analyses, and the results will be authorized by the state.

– The state will perform so-called superanalyses at the new lab in Batajnica. This will make complete the control of the entire food system – the minister emphasized and added that the state will have insight into more than 90% of the most sensitive and vulnerable food market.
