Drakulić does not give up procurement of Smelter of RTB and construction of new one - 130 million USD

Cyprus-based company "East point" whose president is Serbian businessman Zoran Drakulić does not give up intention to buy Topionica (Smelter) from the makeup of Mining-Smelter Basin (RTB) Bor and build the new one its place, which would cost, according to the first estimates, 130 million USD.

Drakulić says that the intensive negotiations are underway with the representatives of another two companies on forming of consortium for procurement of Bor-based Topionica. If they win the tender, they plan to have new generator built according to the technology of Finnish company “Otokumpu”, which is one of the biggest and the most praised manufacturers of metallurgy equipment in the world. This unit, it is proved in practice, provides maximum use of copper and it is completely safe to environment.

The owner of “East Point” points out that, having in mind the raw material base that is at the disposal of Bor and Majdanpek-based copper mines, the production capacity of new Topionica should amount to 100,000 tons of the purest copper on annual basis.
