Tankers for Netherlands - Kladovo-based shipyard "Rajna-Dunav" starts production and export
After several years of unsuccessful operations, successfully privatized shipyard "Rajna-Dunav" in Kladovo will, once again, start production of ships for shipowners in Netherlands.
About 15 days ago, "Neredeka", a self-propelled ship for transportation of containers and dispersed freight, departed for Netherlands on the Danube. That is the fourth ship from the series of ships for the owner in Netherlands. Also, the contract has recently been signed with the Dutch on production of 4 transoceanic tankers for transportation of oil derivatives.
The value of newly signed contract is 3m EUR, and there are also chances for new contracts for building and overhaul of ships, which would require employment of another 100 people in the new production hall, in addition to existing 160 permanent employees and 80 partners from Vojvodina and Romania.
According to Željko Mijatović, the Technical Director of the shipyard, ship "Nerdeka" is one of the three largest ships ever built in Serbian shipyards, and its construction was finished in record time, in only three months.
The Dutch have plenty of compliments for constructors of ships "Inga", "Inga 2" and "River dance" as well. That was the reason why they ordered construction of transoceanic tankers.
The shipyard in Kladovo has the advantage over the other shipyards because it has the largest and the most modern careenage on the Danube, and ever since it was privatized, it has been obtaining up-to-date equipment for automated production. CEO Mijatović said to the press that the competitiveness of local shipyard would be significantly improved very soon.
New production hall will be built at 20,000 square meters, and it will include 2 production lines for simultaneous construction of 3 river-sea ships.
