Donji Milanovac expects more than 170 tourist cruise ships in 2019

The cruise ship SS Beatrice arrived to the passenger terminal in Donji Milanovac on Sunday, April 7, marking the official start of this year's season in the town on the Danube.

This is the first of the 173 cruise ships announced for this year's nautical season, which ends on November 3 with the arrival of River Navigator.

Not counting April and October, during which fewer than 20 cruise ships will dock here, from May till September, there will be at least one cruise ship at the Donji Milanovac terminal almost each day, sometimes even two or three.

As has been the case in the past years, the tourists who arrive from almost the whole world by cruise shops will be presented with homemade products at the market right next to the terminal and organized tours of the archaeological site Lepenski Vir and the the Djerdap National Park, as well as Donji Milanovac, including the town's church.

In 2018, a total of 144 cruise ships with 20,447 passengers and 6,124 crew members docked in Donji Milanovac. The highest numbers were recorded in July (30), June (28) and September (24). The number of passengers per ship ranged from 47, recorded on Roham in May, to 220, on Nestroy in June. On average, there were 120 to 140 passengers per ship.

Foreign cruise ships have been docking in Donji Milanovac since 2006.
