As Vesic told at the press conference, the first agreement pertains to the procurement of 70 buses of the Turkish company BMC from Izmir, which will be delivered successively over the next 60 days, whereas the remaining 174 buses of China’s HIGER will be successively delivered over the next 160 days, Vesic said.
Vesic said that the procurement was worth a total of EUR 47 million, of which EUR 35 million for Chinese buses and EUR 12 million for Turkish buses and added that the majority of the buses would be operational by September.
He said that he had had a meeting with the Chinese company Jinlong, which had purchased Ikarbus and which would produce electric and diesel buses at the factory, and added that an agreement had been reached for Belgrade to buy 50 articulated buses in 2019 and another 50 articulated and 30 electric buses in 2020.
Vesic said that, with the purchase of those 30 electric buses, Belgrade would get another “green” line and that it would be line 31.
