CEATEC seeking partners for manufacture of first Serbian electric car

The China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation (CEATEC) is working on the project of bringing the production of electric cars to Serbia. As Dragan Cigoja, the CEO for International Affairs at the CEATEC, announced, the plan is not to bring a Chinese manufacturer, but the technology.

– Together with our companies and your entrepreneurs, we will develop a Serbian brand of electric cars, which will be meant for the region, but primarily for the European market.

He added that they were looking for partners, as 51% of the production needs to be carried out in Serbia. The potential partner should be capable of producing the components. If not, the CEATEC will bring over Chinese companies to produce the components, in order to assembly a quality vehicle.

This car can’t compare with Tesla, but is in the range of the best Chinese car brand BYD.

– When it comes to the characteristics, it’s a very reliable vehicle, with highly reliable, quality batteries. It will be an excellent car – Cigoja announced.
