ITALY PARTNER COUNTRY AT INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL FAIR - Representatives of biggest Italian plant nurseries coming to Novi Sad

(Maccanti Vivai) At the upcoming International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, Italy will be the Partner Country, and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) will once again organize an official collective Italian exhibit.

Representatives of 28 companies from Italy will attend the fair, with manufacturers of various farming machines and spare parts being the most numerous. Some of the biggest producers of fruit seedlings, products for the protection of farming cultures and animal feed and supplements, will take part in the fair, and representatives of the Verona fair will also be there.

The company Geoplant Vivai was launched in 2007 and was the natural continuation of Danesi Secondo’s original company, Geoplant, which the Danesi family founded over 30 years ago. It is against this backdrop that the company has inherited its expertise and know-how, along with skill of managing nurseries producing fruit and strawberry plants. Geoplant Vivai is an Italian nursery company known for the high quality of its plants. They produce fruit plants and strawberry plants since 1982 and they are present both on the Italian and European market with plants such as strawberry, apple, cherry, apricot, plum, peach and pear trees. They also deal with varietal development and breeding.

Maccanti Vivai, as a fruit plant nursery, produces over 300,000 pear plants and over 100,000 apple plants in Italy. All plant production is virus free, starting from basic material, rootstocks and grafts that are all certified. They offer Italian production and also plants produced in Serbia with Italian basic material and technology. Maccanti Vivai also offers technical assistance to get the best results in fruit growing.

The International Agricultural Fair will also be attended by the delegate office of Veronafiere for Alpe-Adria region (Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania) and Turkey. They give assistance to companies from this region interested to participate as exhibitor or visitor to international fairs in Verona.

(Nischler nursery) The nursery Nischler was founded in 1985 and can look back on more than 30 years of experience. Today it is one of the largest tree nurseries in Europe, with administrative seat in Schlanders (BZ) and the production seat in Albaredo d'Adige (Province of Verona). The annual production of apple trees is around 5-6 million, 60% of them are Knip plants and 40% are plants of 1 year. They are cultivated on the area of about 500 hectares, other crops grow on another 150 hectares.

In addition to the exhibit part, the visitors of the International Agricultural Fair will have the opportunity to attend numerous seminars and lectures as well. On May 14, starting at 11 am, the program includes the seminar and workshop called “Sustainable, Green & Circular Economy” (apply HERE), sponsored by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). The seminar will be dedicated to the issues of ecology and sustainable agriculture.
