Zijin Bor opens tender for procurement of equipment, materials and mechanization – USD 1 billion to be invested in mine and foundry reconstruction

Serbia Zijin Bor Copper DOO plans to invest over USD 1 billion in technical reconstruction and expansion, as well as construction of mine and foundry facilities in the upcoming 6 years.

After the first phase is completed, the production of copper from concentrate is estimated to reach 82,000 tons a year, whereas the annual production of copper cathodes is expected to reach 80,000 tons. After the completion of the second phase of the project, the production of copper from concentrate will reach 120,000 tons a year, and the production of copper cathodes will reach 150,000 tons a year.

The project of technical reconstruction and expansion requires the procurement of a large amount of equipment and materials, including the material for the construction of the infrastructure and various kinds of heavy mechanization for the mining industry and the foundry.

The procurement procedure started in late May and will close on June 15, 2019.
