A merger between man and machine with several functions and purposes, from use in restaurants as modern hostesses, through homes for the elderly, where they would serve as assistance, to personal mini “policemen” in houses as security, the robots made by MHT Products from Priboj were among the most visited items at this year's Fair of Technics in Belgrade.

Jasna Petrovic, the general manager of MHT Products, says that these robots are designed for all smart house purposes, and that one of the upcoming plans is oriented to improving the home security features. The product is, however, not fully domestic, but its main part, the software, is the work of programmers from this Priboj-based company.

– You can leave this robot at home. If someone breaks in, the robot photographs the burglar, send a photograph to the phone and calls the police, so one of our focuses is to enhance the functions of these robots. Also, the robots are ideal for restaurants. The robot can approach the guest, read out the menu and guide the guest to the table – Petrovic told eKapija. She added that they were working with suppliers when it comes to components at the moment, whereas the software was theirs.

These robots, as explained, come with an advanced system of voice interaction, high-quality speakers, excellent communication functions and Aleka smart IoT function, which practically makes these robots family members.

– This is the first house robot to adopt the Amazon AI system, allowing for excellent voice interaction. The construction of the panel for app integration, the games panel and the directory panel on the touch screen reduces difficulties in interacting with the robot and brings an incredible interactive experience for users.

In addition to robots, this company presented another three innovative products at the Fair of Technics. As we were told, all these devices are green high-tech products. They feature device control through iOS, Android and WEB apps, and user support is provided as well, in the local market, but also in the American market.

The product they were awarded for as an innovative technical achievement is the Safe Toilet tank, a device for measuring the water level in water tanks in toilets. The development of this device took over 2.5 years and it is now available in the market.

– This is a device that does away with all the mechanical parts in a water tank and everything that could potentially create problems, causing the flooding and unnecessary water leakage. This device saves water, turning a regular water tank into a smart water tank.

As our interviewee explains, the device features an error-detection component, which sends a notification through a phone app.

– Most water is used due to such malfunctions, whether it's a broken chain, a pipe in the wall or any kind of mechanical malfunction, this device closes the valve, while keeping the water tank operational, and sends information about all the malfunctions.

There are several varieties of this device, for the local market, and for the European and the American markets, because different systems are used – she added.

At the company's booth, we also had the opportunity to see a device which is patented and whose mechanical part is complete, whereas the thermostat is still being worked on. This is a ventilation grid which allows you to set the desired temperature in rooms, while cleaning the air.

– When you get back from work, you can set up the temperature which suits you. If there are three floors in a building, the third one is usually the warmest one, whereas the first one is the coldest. With the help of this device, you can set up the temperature that suits you on each floor, and you can have two or three grids in a single room, but only one thermostat per room.

The central unit to which the ventilation grid will be connected can be located outside the building – in a basement or a loft, and the product is ideal for hotels and restaurants.

– In Serbia, this device is suitable for office buildings, but it can also be installed in houses – Petrovic says.

Also, the device saves electricity and cleans the space and the air from bacteria, viruses and micro-organisms, making it suitable for those prone to allergies, and among the interesting components is a UV lamp.

In addition to these products, MHT Products also presented smart watches. As Petrovic said, these are also not 100% their products, as only the software is local, whereas the components come from the suppliers.

– There are several varieties of these watches. The sports variety comes in various colors and can measure one's walking, calories etc. Another variety is modeled after the Apple Watch, is slightly more elegant and can be connected to phones running on Android and iPhones. They all feature a Wi-Fi connection, and watches can take in cards providing them with all the functions of a smart phone – email, messaging, downloading apps – Petrovic explains.

There are currently 9 employees at the company, and they are looking to increase the number.

– Priboj is a small place and workforce is a problem. We need engineers, programmers, so we cooperate with experts throughout Serbia and beyond. We want to increase the number of employees, and we also plan to expand the production, introduce new products and improve the existing ones – such as working on the robot. We are trying to make the products as functional as possible, but also to have them look as good as possible – Petrovic says.

So far, all the products of this company from western Serbia have been meant for export, but as they say, they are also interested in the local market and are looking for distributors.

– The products can now be bought directly from us, but we are open to cooperating with distributors in order to increase the production and sales – MHT Products said.

Let us remind that the owner of the company is Sean Masoudnia from Pennsylvania, and the agreement on the lease of space at Free Zone Priboj was signed in 2016. The company is located there in one of the former FAP facilities.
