“Chemopharma “ Belgrade – equally good in food and pharmaceutical industry
Belgrade representative office of Austrian “Chemopharma” company, specialized for food and pharmaceutical products’ trade, will soon celebrate 10 years of successful business in Serbia.
Bch. of Engineering, Mr. Nenad Grujicic, General Manager of “Chemopharma” Belgrade, gave an interview to “E-kapija” representative, during which he stated that the company had become reliable partner in the previous period with manufacturers of food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, from our country.
Mr. Grujicic reminded that this Austrian company has been interested in this region, almost since their founding in 1976, but the official representative office was opened in September of 1999, with a wish to promote earlier reached trade results.
- “Chemopharma” company, a leader in trade goods, was founded by Mr. Peter Andlinger in Austria. It is a family capital company which is today active in Vienna, Belgrade, Istanbul, Kiev, Moscow, Sofia, Vrchlaba and Warsaw. Even tough it has only about 35 employees, it could be ranked as a medium sized multinational company according its traffic and profits, said Mr. Grujicic.
Mr. Grujicic pointed out that the company had a specific management system, with a small vertical structure, which brings more efficiency into managers’ achievements and that contributes to the company’s quality.
“Chemopharma” in Belgrade covers for now only the market of Serbia, but it is in plan to enter BiH and Macedonia’s markets.
Comparing the three industrial branches in their domain, Mr. Grujicic said according his experience, manufacture of cosmetics is the least developed sector in Serbia.
Their biggest buyers in pharmaceutical industry are “Galenika” and “Zdravlje”, while in the food sector besides the large systems like “Centroproizvod”, “Soko Stark”, “Bambi Banat”, “Aleva”, there is also a great number of private companies – “Balkan komerc” from Loznica, “Ivera” from Belgrade, “Bin Commerce” from Belgrade etc.

“Chemopharma” Belgrade is also representative agent of “Koehler” company, its daughter company which places natural products on the market: hazelnut, pepper, coconut dough. “Chemopharma” is the largest importer of sterilized pepper in Serbia.
- Pepper bought on the market, even the one of the finest quality, is not pure enough, and has to be additionally processed in the factory. Companies that are not aware of it can have very bad experience as such goods often have various organic and non organic impurities. For “Koehler” needs, the goods are prepared in a factory where pepper is washed several times, and then it goes through a process of refinement, when dust, fine dust, metals, rocks and “empty seeds” are cleaned from the good. This kind of refined pepper goes on sterilization with water foam.
When explaining about the company’s advantages, that maintain their role on the market all this years, Mr. Grujicic points out that “Chemopharma” sells quality goods, that they always “keep their promise”, that they invest large means and time in direct contact with the goods’ manufacturers, who are 95% located in China and India, that they don’t buy their good over the Internet, but go into direct cooperation with manufacturers. The company opened their branch office in China, which also contributed to the quality in election of manufacturing factories.

“Chemopharma” is always trying to offer their best service to its clients in Serbia, and to have the goods delivered in shortest deadline as possible. The company is also investing in secure transportation of the goods.
- Containers with our products are locked during shipments and the buyers upon reception directly unlock them. In this way, our partners are sure that we didn’t mix anything and that the good was not kept in our warehouse.
Mr. Grujicic made comment about the present crisis, which actually didn’t extremely shake their activities, but it did influence the payment deadlines. However, on international level, the ships were left without the goods, and this directly stroke the delivery time period.
Even tough, distributors from abroad are often called importing lobby, Mr. Grujicic mentions that “Chemopharma” is placing the goods which don’t exist on this market.
- We don’t do any damage to final producers, instead we are helping them to make a better product which can be more successfully exported, said “Chemopharma” General Manager.
