The WHO describes burnout as “a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed”. Hina writes that the decision was made official last week, after being considered as an option for a year.
The main characteristics are feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion, increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one's job, and reduced professional efficacy.
Hina adds that one of the warning signs if the person in question doesn't manage to rest even during a vacation.
British experts who study stress and its consequences point out that burnout syndrome should be detected on time in order to prevent the consequences.
