System for disposal of ashes in TE “Nikola Tesla” from October
The new system for disposal of ashes in Thermal power plant “Nikola Tesla” B (TENT) in Obrenovac, will be in function from October.
- All the works are in final stages, and the new system will be ready for work from October, after we finish remount of the Block B2, stated Public Relations Associate, Zeljko Martinovic.
In this way, the problem of dislocation of ash from the depot locations will be solved, which is the largest ecological problem for the plant and for the city.
According to Mr. Martinovic’s words, the system is worth 32 millions EUR, and 29 millions were a donation from the European Agency for Rehabilitation, while the rest was provided from TENT’s funds.
Mr. Martinovic said that transportation system and disposal of ashes and cinder could not be applied on the entire depot area, but in successions, from October to May of the next year.
With the start of this system, TENT will have technical conditions to sell electro – filtered ashes to cement factories and road commerce, which could use ashes in their own needs.
Mr. Martinovic said that once electrical-filter will be installed in TENT, there will be decreased the emission of solid particles to atmosphere by 80%, which was a disturbing ecological problem for Obrenovac residents. And now, the second top ecological problem is being solved – ashes dislocation.
In the next two years, around 20 millions EUR from the Plant’s funds will be invested in finalization of electrical-filter installation in TENT blocks, stated Mr. Martinovic
