Construction of the second section of Kragujevac – Batocina road has begun
Construction works on the second section of 4,6 km on the main road Kragujevac – Batocina were started yesterday (August, 25th, 2009), in the value of 553 millions RSD.
Prime Minister, Mirko Cvetkovic, opened the works and on this occasion he stated that infrastructural construction was one of the key priorities of the Government, as in recession conditions it created new working places, it increased gross domestic product and it attracted both domestic and foreign investors.
- Kragujevac – Batocina road and its linking with Corridor 10 is a significant encouragement for development of Kragujevac based car industry, but also for development of neighboring municipalities, Mr. Cvetkovic said.
He invited contractors to start with work, to stay within the deadlines and he promised the Government of Serbia would provide the necessary means.
Due date for finalization of this section is 150 days. The Contractor is Company for roads from Kragujevac.
Kragujevac – Batocina main road with two driving tracks will be linked to Corridor 10 by 2011, once construction of the remaining 15 km of road is finished, on the territory of Batocina and Lapovo Municipality.
Project documentation for this part of the road is presently being coordinated with the Area plan of Serbia.
At the opening of works on the main road were also present Minister for National Investments Plan (NIP) of Serbia, Mrs. Verica Kalanovic, the highest representatives of the local management from Kragujevac city, Batocina and Lapovo Municipality, and C.E.O. of the factory “Fiat automobiles Serbia”, Giovani de Philipis.
Minister for NIP, Mrs. Verica Kalanovic stated on this occasion, that construction of Kragujevac-Batocina main road was one of the three national projects financed by the Ministry in 2009.
- We cannot build a large automobile center without developed traffic roads, utility and energy infrastructure, she said.
Kragujevac city Mayer, Veroljub Stevanovic expressed his satisfaction that the largest investment for 2009 of Kragujevac city was being undertaken.
