Drugs cheaper by 4.5 - 5%
- The Government of Serbia has lowered the prices of drugs in Serbia by average of 4.5 - 5% - the Minister of Health, Tomica Milosavljević, said on Saturday (September 5th, 2009).
- After the analysis of referential prices in Italy, Croatia and Slovenia and the current Dinar exchange rate were taken in concern, the decision was made on reduction of prices of drugs - said Milosavljević.
Milosavljević pointed out that that decrease in prices would contribute to the reduction of inflation "by more than 0.5%", as well as that it would make it possible for the Republic Health Insurance Institute to save some money.
- The Law on drugs and medical means anticipates control of prices of drugs, and the decision about decrease in prices of drugs in Serbian market was made at the suggestion of the Ministry of Health and Trade at the last meeting of the Government - said Milosavljević.
