Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic announced that, thanks to the implementation of the new method, around 70% of the potholes in 10 urban municipalities would be repaired by September 1 and that the remaining ones would be repaired during that month, Beoinfo reports.
He said that Beograd Put used self-placing hard cast asphalt with micro-reinforcement, which considerably speeds up the repair process, to three to five minutes per pothole.
He added that there were around 6,000 potholes in 10 urban municipalities, of which 4,200 on driving lanes, with the rest being located on manholes and drainage inlets, which are repaired using a different method.
Vesic said that, up to that point, around 80 workers in ten teams had managed to repair around 30 potholes a day.
– By applying the new method, we will be able to repair around 130 potholes a day – Vesic said.
Vesic said that the new method had been invented by the director of Beograd Put, engineer Ivan Tejic, who had then enabled the company to use it for free, and added that the method had been confirmed by the Highway Institute.
