"Meter&Control" invested 2m EUR in development of smart electric meters and remote reading systems

Company "Meter&Control", a member of Rudnap group, has certified its quality management system according to ISO 9001:2008 standard and received the Certificate of approval for five new types of electric meters.

These are the first smart electric meters produced in Serbia, and they are equipped for integration into the electric meter remote reading and consumption management system. The company invested 2m EUR in development and production of new electric meters. These new meters are completely realized in accordance with European standards in this field, so that they are competitive in both local and EU market.

Total of 11 engineers worked for full year on developing and designing new electric meters. Projected capacity of "Meter & Control" is production of 150,000 electric meters per year. "M&C" is participating in ongoing tenders in several countries, which represent a potential opportunity for export of local smart electric meters to foreign markets.

Integration of these electric meters into the electric meter remote reading and consumption management system enables high-quality analysis of consumption, studying of consumer habits of the buyers of electric power, stimulation of consumption through application of flexible tariff programmes, reduction of technical and commercial losses of electric power. Also, the use of the type of electric meters for which "Meter & Control" has obtained certificates will enable improvement of the quality of electric power supply through remote management of consumption, reduction of costs, measuring of quality of delivered electric power, etc. Such system will drastically reduce chances for unauthorized use of electric power.
