Hrvatska Posta to become regional representative for Amazon?

The largest online trade service in the world, Amazon, might soon become fully available in Croatia, where its regional seat will be as well.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Amazon is planning to establish exclusive cooperation for delivery in Croatia and potentially in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina with Hrvatska Posta (Croatian Post). The information is still unofficial, but it is known that Amazon representatives have visited Croatia and took a tour of the new logistics center in Velika Gorica.

Hrvatska Posta told Poslovni Dnevnik that they couldn’t confirm the information at the moment.

– We have had a lot of offers for cooperation with large world companies, that is, for taking up the role of the regional leader in our operations. It is likely that colleagues from the region will visit our new sorting center in the upcoming period, as it is unique in this part of Europe – the Croatian company said.

They add that they are currently moving their capacities to the new sorting center.

– Along with the automatic letter sorting machines we procured two years ago, new package sorting machines, with a capacity of 15,000 packages per hour, will soon be put into operation at the new location.

The post says that all capacities will be moved to the new location by September and that the first visits by local and foreign companies interested in cooperation are planned for that period as well.
