Reconstruction of Air Force Headquarters building in Zemun planned – Tendering procedure for preparation of technical documentation opens

The Institute for Protection of Monuments of Belgrade has opened the tendering procedure for the preparation of technical documentation for the building of the Air Force Headquarters building in Zemun.

As said, it is necessary to prepare a study of the state of the facility's structure, a geodetic survey of the total settling of the entire structure, a geotechnical study and a project for repair works of the facility's structure.

The building, designed by architect Dragisa Brasovan, was built in 1936 and is one of the most dominant facilities in the old core of Zemun. The building itself has five floors, whereas the tower, incorporated in the structure, has seven floors. The building is of remarkable architectural and cultural-historical value and as such carries the status of a cultural monument.

The building was damaged during the 1999 bombing. The documentation says that, since 20 years have passed since then, it is not certain how much the building has deteriorated over time, nor is it known what the local or global stability of the structure is at the moment. Due to this, the state of each element of the structure needs to be determined.

Offers may be sent until August 22, 2019, at noon. The public opening of the offers will be held on the same date at 12.30 pm at the premises of the Institute for Protection of Monuments of Belgrade. As the public call says, the deadline for the completion of works is 120 days from the possession of the site.

Let us remind that the reconstruction of this facility was previously announced two years ago.
