Japanese launch personal air conditioner

Sony recently launched a new project for a personal air conditioner, dubbed the Reon Pocket. The little device has already met its crowdfunding target of approximately USD 606,000, Extreme Tech reports.

The hardware is designed to be worn under a T-shirt or suit coat and is controlled by a phone app.

As Extreme Tech writes, Reon Pocket can reportedly reduce personal temperature by 13 degrees Celsius or increase it by around 8 degrees Celsius.

As for the battery life, for the time being, cooling performance is reportedly less than two hours.

Reon Pocket is currently available in Japan only, at the price of around USD 117, and it isn’t clear if Sony will bring the device to the global market.
