Pozarevac lacks hotels, new investments in tourism announced – City needs at least 500 hotel beds

Considering the fact that Pozarevac is the host to several cultural and sports events during the year that see a marked increase in number of participants and visitors, it is necessary to provide enough accommodation capacity in order to overcome the existing problems.

– The latest study we conducted shows that we lack around 500 hotel beds but I think that in the meantime the data has changed and that the accommodation deficit in Pozarevac is even greater, said Bane Spasovic, the mayor of Pozarevac and announced the improvement of Pozarevac tourist offer.

Until then, the biggest event Pozarevac hosts is the multi-day Ljubicevo Equestrian Games with numerous participants from all over Serbia and other countries in the region. Hence, public procurement for the event has already been realized. Two bidders competed for accommodation services – Inon Invest company and Avala company, both based in Pozarevac. Avala offered higher price than the estimated one – RSD 310,080 without VAT whereas Inon Invest offered RSD 277,062 without VAT so the public procurement commission decided on the more favorable deal that Inn Hotel and Restaurant offered.

Overnight lodging in single and double bed rooms including breakfast, residence fee and insurance has been arranged with the hotel. According to the conditions specified in the public procurement all rooms must contain a working desk, a chair, air-conditioning, free internet access in the entire hotel , suitable beds, a bathrooms, hair-driers, around-the-clock room service and free parking. The city budget will cover these services, which amount to RSD 308,000, VAT included.
