Office of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus opened in Belgrade
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus opened its office today (September 29, 2009) in Belgrade.
At the opening, the President of that Chamber, Vasilij Vasiljevič Romanov, expressed hope that, thanks to that office, the value of the exchange of goods between Serbia and Belarus would reach 0.5 billion EUR in three years.
According to his words, that is possible because the economies of the two countries are compatible.
The Minister of Trade of Belarus, Sergej Valentinovič Čekanov, estimated that the opening of the office of Belarus’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry represented the extension of intensification of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Čekanov said that the exchange of goods between Serbia and Belarus was constantly growing because it had been increased by 300% over the last six years, and he added that his opinion was that year 2009 would be crucial for development of economic relations between the two countries.
The Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (PKS), Mihailo Vesović, said that the opening of the office of Belarus’ Chamber would make it easier for entrepreneurs from that country to access Serbian market.
He also pointed out that the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia would back the work of that office and expressed hope that the trade between the two countries would be increased, regardless of the global economic crisis.
Dragomir Karić has been appointed as the representative of Belarus’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Belgrade.
The Business forum of Serbia and Belarus is being held today in PKS, and it will be the opportunity for bilateral meetings of the companies from these countries, while Business Council Serbia-Belarus is scheduled for tomorrow.
